25.4x1.2mm Ferrtic Stainless Steel Automotive Tube ASME SA268 TP430 S430000
Type 430 Ferritic Stainless Steel
The most commonly used ferritic steel, type 430 has a higher chromium content and is, consequently, more resistant to corrosion by nitric acids, sulfur gasses, and many organic and food acids. In some applications, this grade can be used as a replacement for austenitic grade 304. Type 430 is often found in interior appliances, including washing machine drums, kitchen sinks, cutlery, indoor panels, dishwashers, and other cooking utensils.
Type 430 is a ferritic stainless steel alloy which offers good
corrosion resistance and is particularly resistant to nitric acid,
making it a very useful material in chemical applications.
The corrosion resistance qualities are good, but they are not as
good as the austenitic grades 301, 302 and 304. The alloy benefits
from good formability and is readily weldable although not suitable
for rigorous service. Machinability is also good although there is
a possibility of galling. Type 430 stainless steel is commonly used
in the production of domestic appliances and is also used in the
automotive sector for trim parts.
TP430 is a typical martensitic chromium-alloy steel grade. It does
not have the nickel content and owns the following characteristic:
- Harding by heat treatment
- High hardness with good ductility
- Good corrosion resistance capability
- Good wear corrosion resistance
- High cold-deformation property
Typical applications for 430 grade include:
Heat Treatment
